People Experience & Talent Development Manager
Overall Purpose of the People Experience & Talent Development Manager Role:
The People Experience & Talent Development Manager is responsible for fostering and enhancing Bicycle London’s culture of learning and development and cultivating an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing workplace culture.
This role combines strategic and hands-on responsibilities to enhance the employee lifecycle experience, ensuring alignment with the Company's organisational values and objective to be a modern, multi-market, fully integrated, data driven, creatively powered business like no other in the UK.
One of the role’s key responsibilities will be to design and implement the curriculum and learnings of the Bicycle Academy - a new 4-tiered course aptly named the Pedal to Success program (P2S), which focuses on developing our frontline people into skilled media generalists.
Essential Skills & Experience:

People Development
- You will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging learning experiences including workshops and training sessions for all our people.
- In addition, you’ll be managing and evolving the orientation and immersion plans to set all new starters up for success.
- You will be sourcing and managing external learning partners, platforms, and resources, as well as tracking people’s learning outcomes and measuring the impact on their performance and engagement.
- Working with the curriculum leads and external consultants to develop the content and ensure the Pedal to Success program remains current and industry relevant.
- Once the curriculum has been finalised, you’ll design and create an e-learning learning system for newcomers and incumbents to utilise on demand.
- You’ll be liaising with Bicycle’s university partners and other education centres to promote and facilitate a regular pipeline of candidates for the P2S programme.
- You’ll also be liaising with the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) to collaboratively create opportunities that promote the P2S programme and the agency’s profile alike.
- You’ll be collaborating with the IPA and other industry bodies to promote the agency as the industry’s Centre of Excellence.
- You’ll be responsible for managing and developing the agency’s annual performance management cycle on our HR system HiBob, ensuring the process aligns with the team’s and agency’s objectives.
- Develop the agency’s competency framework to ensure our people can self-manage their own career development plans.
Talent Management
As part of your talent responsibilities, you’ll partner with hiring managers to understand their team’s needs and define talent requirements as they grow.
You’ll design new role profile templates with team leads for incumbents within the agency and for new roles the agency requires as we grow.
You’ll also be our go to for hiring advice and together with the people experience assistant will build and maintain a strong pipeline of diverse, high-Employee Experience & Engagement quality candidates through networking, outreach, and partnerships.
Employee Experience & Engagement
Our culture is everything and as the people experience and talent development manager, you’ll be championing a culture of inclusion and belonging across the agency.
You’ll develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and satisfaction, measured by surveys and focus groups.
Business Partnering
The People Experience & Talent Development Manager will partner with junior and middle managers to ensure their day-to-day HR needs are met.
- You will be a trusted advisor, providing guidance on fostering a positive employee experience within your partnering group’s teams.
- The People Experience & Talent Development Manager will partner with junior and middle managers to ensure their day-to-day HR needs are met.
- You will be the conduit between your business partnering group and senior management to ensure there is transparent and effective communication between the two parties.
- You’ll be expected to partner with our business directors and activation team heads to create training opportunities tailored to team needs.
Ideal additional skills and attributes:
Qualifications
- Level 5 and above CIPD
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in learning and development, people development and HR ideally at a creative, media, or advertising agency.
- Proven ability to design and implement impactful learning programmes.
Skills and Competencies
- Good understanding of employee engagement frameworks and HR Best Practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Data-driven mindset with experience analysing and presenting employee experience metrics.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Ideally experienced in working on HiBob
- Either been involved in writing or using e-learning systems
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with learning platforms, LMS tools, or digital content creation.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary range: Up to £45,000 - £50,000 pa plus excellent benefits depending on experience.
